On Friday afternoon, a man’s body was discovered in a branch of the Senne river near Boulevard Industriel in Anderlecht, as confirmed by the Brussels prosecutor’s office on Saturday.

The victim has not yet been formally identified, and investigations are ongoing to determine his identity and the circumstances of his death. Initial findings suggest no third-party involvement in the death.

Brussels firefighters were called by the police around 17:00 following the discovery of a floating body. Preliminary evidence indicates the body had been in the water for some time.

A judicial expert, a forensic doctor, and the federal police laboratory were summoned to the scene. The public prosecutor’s office has declined to comment further at this time.
