Just a day before Tomorrowland's world-famous festival was due to begin, its iconic main stage went up in flames.

On Wednesday evening, the main stage of the Tomorrowland festival in Boom, in the province of Antwerp, was completely destroyed by fire. Luckily, there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is still unknown. Sources suggest a possible accident during the testing of fireworks cannons. However, this was not confirmed by the organisers or emergency services.

Despite some initial concerns about safety, the festival is still going ahead. The stage was still being rebuilt as the festival opened its doors at 14:00 on Friday.

Here are some of the shocking images from Thursday and Friday.
