Local police announced on Tuesday that they intercepted ten drug dealers and 180 drug users at the Tomorrowland festival in Boom.
The dealers, originating from the Netherlands, Spain, North Macedonia, Belgium, Italy, and Serbia, have been summoned to appear in court later this year. Drugs seized were analysed on site by the National Institute of Criminalistics and Criminology.
The drug users were offered the option of immediate fines, amounting to a total of €45,900. They were promptly expelled from the festival.
Overall, criminal activity reported at the event has decreased, with fewer than five theft reports. One individual appeared before a magistrate due to suspicion of sexual misconduct at the DreamVille campsite.
Additionally, 19 people faced administrative arrest for public intoxication, disturbances, or burglary.
The police also conducted administrative confiscations of 22 taxis operating outside designated areas. Ten drones, flying over restricted airspaces, were seized as well.
