The Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) has issued a weather warning for Sunday, prompting the federal government’s Department of Home Affairs to activate the emergency number 1722 for non-life-threatening storm or water damage.
The RMI forecasts intense and possibly thundery showers throughout the day, resulting in a yellow weather alert for the Walloon provinces of Liège, Namur, Luxembourg, and Walloon Brabant. Brussels and Flemish Brabant will also be under yellow alert until Sunday evening.
Residents requiring assistance from the fire brigade, especially for storm and water damage, are encouraged to submit requests via the e-portal at www.1722.be or call the emergency number 1722. The preference is to use the e-portal to ensure that the emergency lines at number 112 remain free for life-threatening situations.
