The European Investment Bank Group (EIB Group), which oversees the EIB and the European Investment Fund, has opened an office in Brussels specifically to support Belgian businesses, the group said in a statement on Monday.
The new office will focus on strategic financing and sustainable growth in Belgium, supporting the "dynamic and highly innovative" Belgian business community, according to the statement.
Torsten Brand, a Belgian-German national, will head the office.
Since 1962, the EIB Group has invested €44.5 billion in Belgian projects.
