Two children drowned when a boat carrying 99 migrants sank in the Mediterranean on Wednesday, according to the German humanitarian organisation Sea-Watch.
A total of 96 people were rescued, while one person was missing.
The vessel, which was overloaded, sank in international waters between Libya and Tunisia, Sea Watch reported.
The organisation said its reconnaissance plane had spotted the boat on Monday.
It criticised Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, stating that a rescue operation was only initiated on Tuesday.
