At the Lokerse Feesten on Wednesday evening, a car collided with a police vehicle after fleeing from law enforcement in Waregem.

The car initially attempted to evade officers in the Mira police zone in Waregem. The pursuit began on the E17 motorway but was halted due to the vehicle reaching speeds between 200 and 250 kilometres per hour, as per police procedures.

The vehicle was later spotted by the Zele-Berlare police, prompting another chase. It eventually reached the Lokerse Feesten site, where police were stationed. The car stopped briefly, allowing the passenger to exit, but the driver reversed into a police vehicle before bypassing a barricade in the festival area, with no injuries reported.

The vehicle was last seen near Sint-Niklaas and Temse, and authorities are still actively searching for the driver. The individual is well known to both the police and the public prosecutor’s office.
