A 15-year-old boy suspected of planning a school shooting with two classmates has been detained in Denmark, police announced on Thursday.
The South-East Jutland Police received a complaint on Friday, 1 August 2025, about a potential school shooting at Sct. Michaels School in Kolding, located in the south of the country, police said in a statement.
The authorities assured that there was no “real and concrete danger to the school in question or to any particular individuals.”
Based on the complaint, three minors were arrested. One suspect, a 15-year-old, appeared at a preliminary hearing for attempted murder and has been placed in pre-trial detention for four weeks, police stated.
The two other suspects, who are under the age of legal majority, were released after being questioned. Police did not disclose any details regarding the suspects’ identities.
The targeted institution is a private school in Kolding, the eighth largest city in Denmark, where summer holidays are set to end around 11 August.
The suspects are reportedly students of a different school, according to a statement from the city.
