A fire that broke out on Saturday afternoon in a terraced house on Abrahamstraat in Ghent has been confirmed as accidental by the East Flanders public prosecutor’s office after an investigation by a fire expert.
The fire started in the kitchen of the house, located between Prinsenhof and Burgstraat, and caused significant smoke. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control.
There were no injuries, and the residents were safely evacuated. However, the property suffered considerable damage.
The public prosecutor’s office stated there is no evidence of foul play.
