Customs officials made two cocaine seizures in the Antwerp port area on Sunday, according to the Finance Ministry. A total of 73.38 kilograms of drugs were seized.

Both seizures took place at quay 913, at the North Sea terminal. The first batch of 44.4 kg of cocaine was hidden in the refrigerated compartment of a container that had come from Chile. The other batch, weighing 28.98 kg, was also found by customs in a refrigerated container, this time from Ecuador.

The drugs will be destroyed, and an investigation will be conducted to determine who is responsible for the attempted smuggling.
