As in previous years, visitors to Pukkelpop can use special shuttle buses and night buses to take them to the festival and, above all, back home safely. Thanks to the close cooperation between De Lijn, the province of Limburg, the city of Hasselt and Pukkelpop, night buses also run to 34 Limburg cities and municipalities after each festival day.
Every year, tens of thousands of festival-goers arrive at Pukkelpop with their bags packed. This year, they can once again use free shuttle buses that run continuously between Hasselt station and the Pukkelpop site. "The shuttle buses literally run right up to the entrance of the festival," says Frederick Luyten of Pukkelpop. "No parking problems, no stress. Trains and buses, but also bicycles, are the fastest, safest and most environmentally friendly choices."
The shuttle buses between Hasselt station and the festival site run on Thursday and Friday from 9:00 to 5:00. On Saturday and Sunday, they depart from Hasselt station at 10:00 and also run until 5:00. On Monday, the day when exhausted festival-goers return home, the free shuttle buses run from 8:00 to 16:00.
Even those who are not staying at the various campsites can get home safely thanks to the night buses. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, fifteen different night bus routes connect 34 municipalities with Kiewit. The buses depart just after the last acts on the main stage and are free for residents of participating municipalities upon presentation of their PKP25 wristband. "Since 2014, we have been ensuring that thousands of young people get home safely after a night of music," says Laura Olaerts (N-VA), Deputy for Mobility. "Use is increasing every year, which confirms that we are really responding to a real need."
Music lovers can easily plan their journey using De Lijn’s route planner or app. All information can also be found on the De Lijn website.
