A cyclist was critically injured on Thursday afternoon when she was hit by a truck in Stekene, East Flanders.
The accident may have occurred in a blind spot. However, the East Flanders Public Prosecutor's Office has appointed a traffic expert to investigate further.
The accident took place at the intersection of Voorhout and Drieschouwen streets in Stekene. The 30-year-old cyclist collided with a truck that was turning right. She ended up under the vehicle and was taken to hospital in critical condition.
The accident disrupted traffic for some time.
