Low clouds accompanied by mist, locally fog and some drizzle will be widespread on Saturday morning, except in the south of the country where sunny spells will persist, according to forecasts from the Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM).
The grey skies will slowly clear, giving way to sunny spells, but it will be the second half of the afternoon before these become widespread. Maximum temperatures will be lower, between 20°C at the coast and in the High Ardennes, 24 to 25°C in the centre and up to 27°C in south-east. The wind will be moderate, sometimes quite strong on the coast, blowing from the north to north-east.
This evening, the sky will become partly cloudy in many places. During the night, low coastal clouds will move inland again, but they will be mainly limited to Flanders. Elsewhere, the sky will remain partly cloudy to clear. Minimum temperatures will be around 8°C in the Hautes Fagnes, 11 to 13°C in the plains and close to 15°C on the coast. The wind will be moderate from the north at first, becoming light to moderate from the north to north-east during the night.
On Sunday morning, low clouds coming in from the North Sea will spread mainly over the northern part of the Sambre-Meuse valley, with a chance of a few drops of rain locally. In the south of the country, the sun will remain out. In the afternoon, sunny spells will gradually appear in the centre, but in the north of the country, the sky will probably remain cloudy. Maximum temperatures will range from 18°C in the Ardennes hills to around 23°C in the centre and up to 25°C in Belgian Lorraine. The wind will generally be moderate from the north-northeast.
On Monday, the weather will become fairly sunny, with a risk of morning cloud in the north of the Sambre-et-Meuse valley. Maximum temperatures will range from 23°C in the Haute Ardenne to 26°C in the plains.
