More than 180,000 people are expected to attend the 46th edition of the Temploux flea market in the province of Namur on Saturday.
The small Namur village of around 2,000 inhabitants will become the Belgian capital of flea markets for the weekend.
The organisers remind visitors that only antique items that have already been used may be displayed.
"We do not accept clothing, for example," explains Frédéric Renaux, president of the ASBL Brocante Temploux.
"That's what makes up our DNA, but also the reputation of our flea market."
Between 180,000 and 200,000 people from Belgium and elsewhere are expected to visit the nearly six-kilometre-long market.
‘Belgium's largest flea market’ will also be enlivened by numerous activities. Stéphane Vanhandenhoven, Karim Azmani and Sébastien Delcampe from the television programme ‘Affaire conclue’, broadcast on RTBF, will be present to value items (by prior registration).
Fireworks are also planned for Saturday evening.
On Sunday, a comic book festival will welcome a dozen artists.
There will also be the traditional parade of vintage Volkswagens, not to mention the Lego Brick Mania exhibition, which will delight fans of the Danish brand on both Saturday and Sunday.
