In Oudenaarde, a car driver attacked a De Lijn bus driver on Thursday evening. This has been confirmed by a spokesperson for the transport company, and the East Flanders public prosecutor's office is investigating the incident.
In the centre of Oudenaarde, the bus driver wanted to leave the bus stop. ‘The bus had right of way, but that didn't go down well with the car driver behind the bus,’ according to De Lijn. ‘The car driver went to complain and attacked the bus driver.’ De Lijn refers to ‘uncontrolled aggression’ and ‘unacceptable behaviour’. ‘We completely disapprove of this.’
The East Flanders public prosecutor's office has launched a criminal investigation.
