The 35-year-old American rapper Sean Kingston, who enjoyed success a few years ago with the song “Beautiful Girls”, was sentenced on Friday by a judge in the US state of Florida to three and a half years in prison. Along with his mother, he was found guilty of fraud.
The artist and his mother allegedly ordered more than $1 million (approximately €850,000) worth of luxury goods, presenting forged documents to prove that payment had already been made.
The mother is already serving a five-year sentence. Sean Kingston had pleaded for house arrest and damages, but was sentenced to prison.
