Eight people were injured in a collision between two vehicles in the Kiel district of Antwerp on Saturday evening, according to local police. The driver of one of the cars, a 17-year-old man, fled the scene after the collision but was found nearby. None of the victims are believed to be seriously injured.

The accident took place at the intersection of Abdijstraat and Pierenbergstraat at around 23:00. There were seven people in one of the cars and two in the other. All seven occupants of the first car were injured and, after receiving treatment at a nearby terrace, were taken to hospital. The young man who fled the scene was also slightly injured and had to be taken to hospital.

The police had the car the young man was driving towed away because they suspected it was uninsured. The driver himself did not have a driving license. Both drivers involved tested negative for alcohol. The exact circumstances of the accident are still under investigation.
