A draft peace agreement has been shared with the M23 armed group and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) ahead of the resumption of peace talks in a few days, a Qatari official familiar with the negotiations said on Sunday.
"A draft peace agreement has been shared with both parties" to the conflict, said the official, who added that the Qatari mediator was preparing to "host an important round of negotiations in Doha," which is expected to begin in a few days, while a declaration of principles signed in Doha on 19 July provided for the signing of a peace agreement by 18 August at the latest.
