The private archive of Henry Le Bœuf and his wife, Louise Le Bœuf-Thys, has been opened to the public following its acquisition by the King Baudouin Foundation.

The collection was acquired through the Marie-Jeanne Dauchy Fund and is now housed at the Royal Library of Belgium (KBR) for preservation, research, and promotion. It includes correspondence between Henry and Louise, letters from artists and Queen Elisabeth, as well as published and unpublished writings, visual documents, and an album.

Henry Le Bœuf (1874–1935), a native of Brussels, was a passionate music lover, music critic, and a member of various musical organisations. The renowned concert hall of the Bozar arts centre in Brussels, designed by architect Victor Horta, is named in his honour.

This acquisition deepens the collaboration between KBR and Bozar surrounding the Fondation Henry Le Bœuf music library, established in 2023. It also forms part of broader initiatives to highlight cultural heritage in the run-up to the centenary of the Palace of Fine Arts (2028) and Belgium’s bicentenary (2030).
