This October, Film Fest Ghent will mark the silver jubilee of the World Soundtrack Awards (WSA) with the release of three unique albums.
The Brussels Philharmonic and the Flemish Radio Choir, led by music director Dirk Brossé, recorded the music for these releases.
Guest of honour Debbie Wiseman will receive a brand-new album titled Music for Film and Television. The record features fresh recordings of her most famous film and television scores, along with two previously unreleased compositions, including 'Accession 2023,' created for the coronation of King Charles III.
Additionally, an expanded edition of Craig Armstrong’s 'Music for Film' will be released. This double album includes pieces from 'Romeo + Juliet,' 'Moulin Rouge,' and 'Love Actually,' with three bonus tracks added.
To complete the celebration, Film Fest Ghent will unveil an exclusive limited-edition vinyl box set: 'World Soundtrack Awards – 25th Anniversary Celebration.' This collection highlights 25 years of the WSA, featuring music from iconic composers such as James Newton Howard, Howard Shore, Rachel Portman, and Gustavo Santaolalla. It also includes rare concert recordings and contributions from the late Elmer Bernstein and John Williams.
All three albums will be released by Silva Screen Records during the 52nd edition of Film Fest Ghent.
