A 34-year-old woman lost her life in a road accident on Monday morning between Velaine (Sambreville) and Jemeppe-sur-Sambre, in Namur Province, according to local emergency services.
The accident occurred around 7 a.m. on Rue des Quatre-Vents, when a car struck the women's scooter from behind after the driver was reportedly blinded by the sun.
The impact caused the woman to be thrown from her scooter. She died on the spot despite a swift response by emergency services.
The Namur Public Prosecutor’s Office has dispatched a traffic expert to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
