Carrefour, in collaboration with Belgium’s Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain, FASFC, has removed the prepared dish ‘Couscous, Chicken & Merguez’ from its shelves due to food safety risks.

The recall concerns the ‘Couscous, Chicken & Merguez’ dish sold under the Carrefour Market brand.

The affected product's barcode is 5400101093409, its lot number 25226, and its use-by date 13 September 2025. It was available in stores' 'Deli' section between 20 and 22 August 2025.

At issue is a disruption in the cold chain, which may have compromised the product’s shelf life and safety.

Carrefour and the FASFC urge customers not to eat the product but to return it to the store where it was purchased. A full refund will be provided upon its return.
