The Bel20 stock index closed at a record high for the fourth consecutive day on Monday, climbing 0.27% to reach 4,861.20 points.

Mid-session trading saw the index peak briefly at 4,886.54 points, marking its highest level ever.

Biotech company Argenx led the charge with a 4.31% jump, closing at €590. This surge followed positive trial results for its Vyvgart treatment, aimed at managing myasthenia gravis in a specific group of patients in the United States. The company announced plans to seek approval for commercialisation later this year.

Pharmaceutical giant UCB also performed well, gaining 1.88% to finish at €201. The rise came as Degroof Petercam added the stock to its “buy” list and raised its price target from €196 to €244.

On the broader market, carpet manufacturer Belysse surged 18.63% to €1.21 after reports last week revealed that entrepreneur Joris Ide had acquired a stake in the company.

Meanwhile, Deme, a company in the secondary tier of the market, suffered a 3.59% loss, closing at €224. The company is set to publish its financial results for the first half of the year on Tuesday.
