Liège’s vibrant non-profit sector will gather on the first weekend of September in the picturesque Parc de la Boverie for the 33rd edition of the Retrouvailles fair.
This long-standing event, which has been a September tradition since 1992, will feature over 300 associations on 6 and 7 September. The free fair offers Liège’s community the opportunity to discover a diverse array of non-profit organisations specialising in leisure, culture, sport, and solidarity.
Organisers aim to showcase not only the offerings of these organisations but also to inspire visitors to get involved. Attendees can explore “opportunities to engage individually or collectively in social, artistic, or sporting activities,” according to a press release issued on Tuesday.
This year, thirty new associations will make their debut at Retrouvailles. The event plans to spotlight these newcomers on its social media channels in the run-up to the fair.
The weekend will be animated by a variety of activities, including musical performances in the Boverie Museum auditorium on Sunday, music workshops and concerts aboard the floating venue “Le Ventre de la Baleine,” docked alongside the park, and rowing demonstrations led by the Union Nautique de Liège, based in the park.
Food lovers will also be delighted by the “gourmet village,” offering international delicacies as well as traditional local dishes to satisfy every palate.
