Marius Borg Høiby, eldest son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, is set to go on trial in Oslo on 3 February 2026 in connection with multiple rapes and a series of other offences, according to Norwegian newspaper 'Nettavisen.'

The 28-year-old stands accused of raping four women in incidents dating back to 2018, 2023, and 2024.

The most recent alleged rape occurred after an ongoing police investigation into his conduct had already begun.

In addition to the rape allegations, Høiby has been charged with 32 other criminal offences. These include domestic abuse, acts of violence, deprivation of liberty, and recording videos without consent, according to Norwegian prosecutors.

Høiby was arrested a year ago on suspicion of assaulting his partner, which triggered an investigation. That inquiry, involving additional allegations and victim reports, lasted months and expanded significantly as more evidence emerged.

Born from a relationship his mother had before marrying Crown Prince Haakon, Høiby is not considered a royal and does not hold an official title.

The trial is expected to last 24 days. If convicted, Høiby could face up to ten years in prison.
