The Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) has issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall in the provinces of Liège and Luxembourg, effective from 19:00 on Sunday until 3:00 on Monday.

In response, the Federal Public Service (FPS) Interior has announced the activation of the 1722 emergency phone line due to the “risk of storms or flooding.”

Residents requiring assistance from firefighters for storm or water damage are advised to submit a request via the online portal www.1722.be or to call 1722. The public is reminded to reserve 112 for life-threatening situations only.

On Sunday evening and into the early hours of Monday, an intensifying rain system is expected to move across eastern Belgium. Localised rainfall in the affected provinces could exceed 20 to 30 litres per square metre within six hours.
