Yvonne Francier, who was Belgium’s oldest living woman, has passed away at the age of 112 in Corsica, France.
The news was confirmed on Tuesday by Anthony Croes-Lacroix, Belgian correspondent for the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO).
Born on 28 February 1913 in Anderlecht, Francier left Belgium following the death of her husband in 1970.
At 112 years and 186 days old, she shares the record for Belgium’s greatest verified age with Joanna Turcksin, who held the title until her death on 6 December 2002.
