The price of natural gas in Europe fell below €30 on Tuesday, marking its lowest level since May 2024.
The drop reflects market anticipation of a potential peace agreement in Ukraine. Such a deal could ease sanctions imposed on Russia.
Forecasts of milder temperatures in the coming days are also helping to decrease prices.
On the leading Dutch futures market, the price for natural gas dipped to slightly over €29 per megawatt-hour on Tuesday.
