The French government on Monday asked oil refineries to look into ways to quickly increase production in France.
In a letter to the industry, officials asked for an evaluation of how production of refined products could be boosted “swiftly and temporarily.”
Paris hopes this measure will help ease the tension for refined products in the European market.
