A police car driving through the centre of Brussels near Place Anneessens (Anneessensplein) was struck by a Molotov cocktail over the weekend.

Police union VSOA shared a video of the encounter on Facebook.

“After two shootings in the past week, there is increased police surveillance in the vicinity of Place Anneessens in the centre of Brussels,” they wrote.

“This is again not appreciated by the young people of Brussels who bombard our police patrols with Molotov cocktails.”

Two people were seriously injured in a shooting that took place on a playground near the same area last Tuesday on 2 February.
