A 24-hour nationwide prison strike will take place on Monday to protest the privatisation of public services, according to the CGSP Amio union.

The strike will start on Sunday at 22:00 and is part of a notice filed by three unions against what they describe as "insidious privatisation" within the federal administration.

Union representatives have raised concerns over the government’s decision to assign certain surveillance tasks at the new Antwerp prison to private companies.
