On August 27 & 28, Saint-Hubert will host the 15th edition of the Oxfam Trailwalker, an event that combines sport and international solidarity. More than 2,500 people, walkers, supporters and volunteers, are expected in Saint-Hubert for Oxfam's sporting and solidarity event.
Created by Oxfam in Hong Kong in 1981, this event has already taken place all over the world and it was first organised in Europe in 2008 in the High Fens, starting in Eupen. Since 2019, the walk has taken place every year in the Great Forest of Saint-Hubert.
300 volunteers needed
The first volunteers have already registered to help out during the Oxfam Trailwalker. Their task will be organising the eight rest and refreshment points as a team, helping with the signposting, registering the teams and providing entertainment along the route.
"Everyone who has participated in the Oxfam Trailwalker in the past agrees: the volunteers, with their smiles, their encouragement and their energy, are an indispensable support in completing the 100 km and make the Oxfam Trailwalker such a special event"
Markus Neumann, who has been a member of the organising committee for many years
