Antwerp is preparing for the 40th edition of the Baloise Antwerp 10 Miles, which will take place over two days this weekend and involve around 50,000 participants.
Festivities kick off on Saturday afternoon at Linkeroever with the Kids Mile and the Baloise Antwerp 5 Miles.
On Sunday, the classic 10 Miles event will feature 40,000 runners starting in ten waves between 10:30 and 14:00.
The course starts at Linkeroever, passes through the traffic-free Kennedytunnel to Rechteroever, and returns to the finish line at Linkeroever via the Waaslandtunnel.
Notable landmarks along the route include Zuidpark, the Royal Museum of Fine Arts (KMSKA), the Scheldt Quays, and the MAS museum.
Participants are advised to collect their race numbers in advance at Frederik van Eedenplein to avoid congestion at the start.
Drivers are encouraged to use Park & Rides on the city outskirts, as parking capacity at Linkeroever is limited, and its Park & Ride facility will be full on Sunday.
Opting for cycling or public transport is strongly recommended.
Supporters are urged to gather primarily at Rechteroever and leave the Linkeroever area to participants for smoother travel.
In the city centre, designated viewing zones include Leopold de Waelplaats, Kloosterstraat, and Oude Leeuwenrui.
Entertainers at 25 designated points along the course will maintain a lively atmosphere.
