Service on Brussels metro line 5 will be interrupted until Tuesday after a train hit the platform at Pétillon station on Monday morning due to flooding that caused the tracks to move.

The train has been repaired but traffic will remain suspended until at least Tuesday while technical teams assess and repair any damage, Brussels transit agency STIB said on Monday afternoon.

The company will continue to provide metro services between Mérode and Hermann-Debroux.
