The remains of a person were found on Chaussée de Watermael in Auderghem during the night between Monday and Tuesday.
The body was found in a drainage channel, the Brussels Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed to Belga News Agency.
"An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances of the person’s death," said Public Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson Laura Demullier.
"In the interests of this investigation, no further comment will be made at this time."
