Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced on Monday that her country will be sending a new shipment of humanitarian aid to Cuba.

President Sheinbaum made the statement during her regular morning press conference.

She explained that the shipment would not include oil.

The aid comes as the Caribbean nation faces a severe crisis, worsened by an oil embargo imposed by the United States.

In recent months, Mexico has sent several shipments of food, medicine, and medical supplies to the island.
