Railway works at Flagey start: these trams and buses will be disrupted

This weekend, railway works started at the Flagey square in the Brussels municipality of Ixelles, causing a number of disruptions and diversions to buses and trams in the area.

From Saturday 2 April to Friday 15 April, tram 81 will be interrupted and bus lines 38, 59, 60, 71, N09 and N10 will be diverted, Brussels public transport company STIB announced.

On both sides of Flagey square, tram 81 will be interrupted. The distance between the two stops has to be covered on foot.

The terminus for the trams from/to Marius Renard is located in the Rue Lesbroussart, just before the square. The terminus of the trams from/to Montgomery is located at the Place Sainte-Croix (along the ponds of Ixelles).

The buses at Flagey square will also be affected by the works: buses 38 and 60 in the direction of Central Station and Ambiorix will be diverted between the Vleurgat and Flagey stops via Avenue Louise, Rue de la Croix and Chaussée d'Ixelles, meaning the Biarritz stop will therefore no longer be served.

The Vleurgat stop will continue to be served, but has been moved to 294 Avenue Louise. The buses also serve three additional stops: Bailli, Vanne and Musée d’Ixelles.

In the direction of Héros and Uccle Calevoet, buses 38 and 60 will be rerouted between the Blyckaerts and Flagey stops via l’avenue de la Couronne et la rue de la Brasserie, and between the Flagey and Vleurgat stops via Rue de Vergnies, Rue de Henin and Avenue Louise. This means that the Malibran and Biarritz stops are not served.

The Flagey and Vleurgat stops will still be served, but will be moved to Rue Vergnies 40 and Avenue Louise 285 respectively. The buses will serve the additional stops Germoir, Levure, Dautzenberg and Bailli.

People taking bus 59 will experience little disruption: only the Flagey stop in the direction of Hôpital Etterbeek-Ixelles will be moved to Rue de la Digue 8.

Bus 71 and N09 towards Delta and Herrmann-Debroux will be diverted around Flagey via Rue Malibran, Avenue de la Couronne and Rue de la Brasserie. The Flagey stop will be moved to Place Sainte-Croix, alongside the ponds of Ixelles.

Buses will serve the additional stops of Malibran, Blyckaerts, Germoir and Levure. In the direction of De Brouckère and Central Station, the Flagey stop is moved to Rue Vergnies 40.

Lastly, bus N10 towards Fort-Jaco will be rerouted between the Flagey and Vleurgat stops via Rue de Vergnies, Rue de Henin and Avenue Louise. The Biarritz stop will not be served.

The Flagey stop will be transferred to the stop for bus 38 in the direction of Central Station. The Vleurgat stop will be moved to Avenue Louise 285. The bus will also serve the Dautzenberg and Bailli stops.

In the direction of Central Station, bus N10 will be diverted between the stops Vleurgat and Fernand Cocq via Avenue Louise and Rue de la Croix. The Biarritz, Flagey and Musée d’Ixelles stops will not be served.

The Vleurgat stop will be moved to Avenue Louise 295, and the additional stops of Bailli and Vanne will be served.
