Jean-Luc Evrard, mayor of Jemeppe-sur-Sambre (Namur), announced his resignation on Monday evening during a municipal council meeting, several local media outlets reported.
The decision was reportedly sparked by tensions within the municipal college.

Evrard had held the position since the 2024 elections.
Earlier this year, in April, he was fined €24,000 on appeal for a conflict of interest involving the sale of a municipal property.
