Belgium's popular Museum Pass – a promotion that allows residents to access a large share of the country's museums and temporary exhibitions, will also be available via the app.
The pass offers very advantageous deals to visit some of the most celebrated cultural offerings in Belgium, 42 of which are in Brussels. It is the fruit of a collaboration between museum organisations in Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels.
Holders of the pass can now gain access to museums or exhibitions via a QR code. This does away with the need for the physical version of the card. Those who still want the physical card will need to pay extra. Physical cards that have already been issued remain valid.

The launch of the app aims to make the pass even more practical and allow users to quickly access museums and exhibitions. It should also make it easier for pass holders to browse events that are taking place.
Access to over 200 museums
The pass gives you access to over 200 museums and exhibitions in Belgium, and currently costs €59. Those on lower incomes can buy it for just €12 alongside a valid social UiTPAS, Paspartoe, A-kaart or Article 27.
In 2021, over 500,000 visits were made to Belgian museums under the scheme with 90,000 passes sold. In the same year, the Museum Pass promotion contributed 2.5 million euros to the museum sector.
