The EU’s gross domestic product — the total value of goods and services produced — was valued at €18.8 trillion in 2025.
Germany had the largest economy among EU countries at €4.5 trillion, accounting for 23.8% of the bloc’s total GDP, Eurostat reported on Thursday.
France followed with 15.8% and Italy with 12.0%.
At the other end of the scale, Malta accounted for 0.1% of the EU economy, with Cyprus, Estonia and Latvia each at 0.2%.

The data were published in Eurostat’s *Key figures on Europe — 2026 edition*, which provides an overview of recent developments across areas including the economy, business, environment and society.
