Belgium’s Council of Ministers on Friday approved a draft royal decree setting the 2026 global budget for pharmaceutical specialities at €6.73 billion.
This was announced in a statement by Public Health Minister Frank Vandenbroucke.
In 2025, the budget stood at €6.48 billion.
The budget will be used to determine whether spending exceeds the limit and, if so, whether the pharmaceutical industry must pay a compensatory contribution, known as a clawback.
