Kevin De Bruyne loses out to Mohamed Salah for Player of the Year

Belgian football player Kevin De Bruyne has lost out to Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's star forward, in his quest to become the first three-time Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Men's Player of the Year.

Double holder of the trophy, the Belgian midfielder was on the six man shortlist for the trophy, but it ended up going to Salah, the Egyptian international.

The other nominees were Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mané (Liverpool), Harry Kane (Tottenham) and Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United).

De Bruyne has however been included in the PFA Team of the Year for the third time, in which he is the only Belgian player.
