The European Commission has approved Amplifon’s acquisition of sole control of Denmark-based hearing aid company GN Hearing under the EU Merger Regulation.
The deal relates mainly to the hearing aid sector, the Commission said in a statement on Friday.
It noted that it cleared the transaction after finding it would not raise competition concerns because its impact on markets where the companies are active would be limited.
Competing retailers and manufacturers would still have access to alternative suppliers and customers following the deal.
Case details
The merger was reviewed under the European Commission’s normal procedure for assessing notified transactions under the EU Merger Regulation.
More information is available on the Commission’s competition website and in its public case register under the reference number M.12475.
