Breakin’, krumpin’, bussin’ down – Brussels’ iconic Mont des Arts will vibe to the performances of rival dance troupes every Wednesday this summer from 18:00 starting on July 13, organisers of the Detours Festival have announced.

Each week, a new dance style will come to the famous Brussels landmark to compete for the chance to perform in the festival’s grand finale, as part of the Urban Dance Caravan on 18 September at the National Theatre of Wallonia-Brussels. This year will feature the inclusion of two new styles, pole-dance and Acro-dance.

The event is part of the larger Detours Festival, which runs 15–18 September. The festival will hold events across Wallonia and the Brussels-Capital Region, including dance battles, workshops, and new cultural projects.

The weekly Mont des Arts dances, called "cyphers" by the organisers, “will allow the community of urban dancers to meet, share, discover their culture and interact with the public during the summer,” the organisers explain.
