On Saturday, The Skateroom – an international organisation dedicated to supporting social projects through skateboarding – will hold their annual skateboard festival 'Plasmo Skate Fest' in Saint-Gilles.
The event will take place on Place Louis Morichar (a hotspot for skaters) and aims to unite Brussels' skateboarding associations with support from the municipality.
The Skateroom, which operates in countries around the world, seeks to promote skateboarding can be a vector for social good whilst often collaborating with artists to raise funds.

Now the organisation is hoping that the event will appeal to accomplished skaters as well as those who are starting out or simply curious and will help secure better funding from the City for skateparks.
The event starts at 11:00 on Saturday and ends at 22:00 with some of the skate scene's biggest names present.
Lessons will be given to novice skaters lessons, and a contest will be held, with prizes up for grabs.
