A rider of an electric scooter has been accused of attacking two police officers in Ixelles on Wednesday afternoon.
On two Chaussée d'Ixelles, Brussels-Ixelles police officers saw a man riding an electric scooter on the pavement, despite it being illegal to do so since July 1.
According to the police, they asked the man to get off the sidewalk, which he refused, and he apparently became enraged when police asked him to show his identity card.

The officers then attempted to take him into the police station, but he apparently refused.
The officers claim that the individual insulted and grabbed one of them by the throats while they were searching him, and that he ended up injuring both officers.
Following his hearing, the suspect was released on the orders of the magistrate.
