The Euromillions record jackpot of €230 million has been won. This was announced on Tuesday evening by participating European lotteries, which include Belgium's.
A European player, whose country of origin was still unknown, picked the five correct numbers and two correct stars, after several draws in a row in which no-one had found the winning combination.
Had the record prize pool not fallen on Tuesday evening, it would have been put into play one last time on Friday. It would then have been shared among players with five correct numbers and one star. This group includes a Belgian, who won just over €4.4 million euros on Tuesday evening.
The previous Euromillions record dates back to last October, when a player from French Polynesia won a jackpot of €220 million euros.
