The Flemish government will still spend more than €1 billion on loans and renovation grants during this legislature, regional energy minister Zuhal Demir (N-VA) stated in an interview with Tijd on Saturday.
In Flanders, households can receive up to €25,000 in grants and €60,000 in interest-free loans from the government.
The region wants to accelerate the pace of renovations to relieve high energy bills and reduce CO2 emissions. Currently, only 5% of Flemish households have an energy performance certificate A, which all homes must obtain by 2050.

A new platform (“MijnVerbouwPremie”) will also open on 1 October and will bring together all renovation bonuses available to simplify applications. Almost two-thirds of Flemings would be entitled to a bonus.
