Two people died in a traffic accident on late Monday morning, when a truck collided with a car on the E40 motorway near Grand-Bigard, injuring two more drivers.
At around 11:30, a truck collided with the end of a traffic line on the E40 motorway, going from Ghent to Brussels.
The truck collided with a car and two other trucks, killing the drivers of the first two vehicles and injuring the drivers of the later two.

As a result of the accident, the motorway is closed to traffic while experts investigate the circumstances behind the accident.
All motorists travelling towards Brussels were thus required to exit the E40 at Ternat, while the Flemish Traffic Center recommended drivers travelling between Ghent and Brussels to take a diverted route through Antwerp.
