After a rather cloudy Saturday, Sunday marks a brighter end to the weekend across Belgium. Sunny spells will continue to appear above most of the country, setting the tone for a week of sunshine and comfortable summer temperatures.

The summer may almost be over, but the weather forecast for next week is still clinging to the holiday feeling. After a sunny day in most parts of Belgium (the Ardennes Massif and the Gaume region are cloudier), Sunday evening will see a broad clearing over many areas, according to the latest forecast from the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI).

During the night, high clouds will pass over Belgium from France, and the minimum temperatures will reach 7°C in some valleys of the Ardennes and will sit around 11 to 14°C in the other regions.

Monday will start out slightly cloudy in some areas, however, sunny spells from France will see the centre of Belgium bathing in the sunshine by noon. The maximums will be between 21°C in the High Ardennes or at the sea, 23 to 24°C in the centre, and even 26°C in the southeast.

On Friday, the atmosphere will become more unstable from the south and will increase the chance of showers, possibly thunderstorms.

Saturday, the weather will again take a turn for the worse, with heavy clouds bringing more thunderous showers across most parts of the country, however, during the afternoon it will become dry from the south. The maxima will be between 20 and 25°C.
